More Than One

Poem

One Heart,
One Soul,

but not the only one.

Listening to another heart
and sharing with them your part,
speaking to another soul 
isn’t that what makes us whole?

Someone listens quietly

when the birds talk 
            and 
when the humans walk,

when they make 
a song of their own.
The trees swing.
And the flowers bloom.

Soft petals... but dry roots,
grounded for ages,
bearing fruits.

Maybe the one who
listens to the birds
watered them once.

And the bees,
pollinating seeds
that see
blooms of beauty.

sipping meaning from colour.

And the beautiful flowers,
pouring out nectar 
slowly and purely
Without asking.

And maybe,
in this quiet listening,
In this worldly feeling
one heart becomes
more than one.

Note: We are not alone as we sometimes feel. Everything around us sinking or floating, feeling or still is a reminder that Allah swt is always with us. Watching, listening and reaching towards us in quiet ways we can't imagine.
